The Lake Preservation Committee reminds residents that contamination of the lake can occur at any time after heavy rains. Protect your health -- avoid lake water contact for 24 to 48 hours after heavy rain or until posted restrictions have been lifted. Check for alerts at the beaches, on cable TV channels 10 (977) and 14 (978), website at www.lmoa.org and on Facebook.

Wildlife Emergencies

SPECIAL BOARD MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR SEPT. 2

The Board of Directors has called special executive and open meetings on legal, contractual and personnel matters to follow the dredging work session on Thursday, Sept. 2, in the Terrace Room. The open session will be called to order immediately following the work session, then go into executive session. The meeting will reconvene in open session to confirm any action generated by the executive session. Members are welcome to attend the open session. Time will be allotted for member comments on the subject of the meeting only.  


BOARD OF DIRECTORS WORK SESSION ON DREDGING, 7PM on Thurs., Sept. 2, in the Terrace Room. Members welcome -- time will be allotted for member comments.

2010 FALL COMMUNITY YARD SALES, Saturdays, Sept. 11 and 18: Register in advance to have sale location listed in the flyer that will be available before the sale dates in the Clubhouse lobby and at the Main Gate on sale days. NO FALL CLEAN UP: Due to the high cost of snow clearing last winter, there is no money available for dumpsters for disposal of large items.


JUST ONE MORE WEEK TO ENJOY THE POOL: The pool and snack bar will be open from 1 to 7PM on weekdays and 11AM to 7PM on weekends. Hours for Labor Day, the last day of pool season, will be 11AM to 7PM. Lap swimming continues 7 to 9AM, Mon. - Fri.

NEW TELEPHONE DIRECTORIES AVAILABLE: LM Beautification Corps 2010-2011 Residents Telephone Directories are available at the Administration Office. Just $10 each. Buy one for every phone, your car and as gifts. Proceeds go toward beautification of our community.


RECYCLE ELECTRONICS: Goodwill Industries accepts computers and other electronic equipment for recycling or reuse. It's easy and it's free. Take to any Goodwill store or attended donation center. FUNDING FOR FISHING PIER: As of August 18, the community fishing pier fund has grown to nearly 90% ($22, 338.50) of the estimated $25,000 needed to begin construction. If you want to help, send your donation of any size to Bo's Pier Group, 265 Turkeysag Trail, Suite 102 , # 130, Palmyra , VA 22963 . Make checks payable to LMOA, marked for the pier fund. (Please note that this is not a tax deductible donation.) Donation forms with instructions are available at the Administration Office or by clicking here:  Fishing Pier Donation Form 

A financial statement is available upon written request from the VA Office of Consumer Affairs.
