Hello, Team LMOA!
We are sending Plan Your Month a little early so that you can share these fun events with friends and family over the holiday! But first a few messages about this week:
Please keep in mind that LMOA's administrative offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
The Pub is closed on Thanksgiving Day but welcomes your business for lunch and Cajun Night on the 24th! Be sure to reserve

Trash Service will be on Friday and Saturday this week. If your normal trash and recycling day is Thursday, your totes will be emptied on Friday, November 24. If your normal day is Friday, your totes will be emptied on Saturday, November 25.

November 25 - January 2 Memory Tree:
You can commemorate someone special with a blue light on the Lake Monticello Community Foundation's Memory Tree, which will be lit from November 25 through January 2 at the Fairway Clubhouse. Email the foundation for rules and registration:

. LMCF is also selling 2024 calendars with pictures of the Lake for $20 at the Help Desk at 41 Ashlawn Blvd.
December 2 Festival of the Trees at the Ashlawn Clubhouse:
From 9 AM - 4 PM, buy raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the fully decorated Holiday Trees. Santa will also be there for photos!
December 3 Holiday Farmer's Market:
Join your neighbors for the holiday edition of the Fluvanna Farmers Market at the Crofton Plaza (Fluvanna Ace Hardware) from 11 AM - 2 PM. Food trucks from Local Eats, Sabor, and Cousins Lobster will be there with over 18 vendors selling diverse holiday items. Please come and support our local businesses this holiday season! December 6 Irish Night at The Pub:
Enjoy food and live music featuring Matthew O'Donnell from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Call The Pub to reserve your space at 434-591-0106.
December 7 Jingle Mingle:
If you have Golf Pro Shop credit, this is the time to spend it, but it's also a great opportunity for Lake residents to discover our little store at the Fairway Clubhouse. Come sip, shop deals and LMOA merchandise, and meet neighbors from 4-6 PM. Please remember, all Pro Shop Credit must be used by 12/31/2023.
December 8 Shot in the Dark:
At 5 PM, come check out the new chipping green in the dark! Participants will shoot from the new chipping green to the 18th hole using glow-in-the-dark balls. You get two shots for $5. There will also be a 50/50 raffle where 50% of proceeds go to Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Reservations requested: please call the Pro Shop at 434-589-3075. This event could be canceled if there is extreme cold or rain.
December 9:
Holiday Arts & Crafts Market:
The Five-Oh! Club is hosting a Holiday Arts & Crafts Market. Shop for handmade gifts at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 10 AM - 2 PM in the lower-level Terrace Rooms. Choose from unique and beautiful items crafted by 24 local artists and vendors. There is also a Christmas Cookie Bake Sale and fresh coffee cakes. The club will accept cash, card, Zelle, and Venmo.
Holiday Home Tour:
The Lake Monticello Beautification Corps' (LMBC) wonderful Holiday Home Tour is a must-do! The annual fundraiser gives participants a unique glance into beautifully decorated homes while raising funds for LMBC. This year it will be held from 12:30-5 PM. There will be 5 homes on the tour and tickets are $10 per person and include the list of homes and homeowners as well as a map showing home locations. Tickets are available now at the Ashlawn Clubhouse office or by contacting Yvonne at

. Tickets will also be sold at each home on the day of the tour.
Art Fest:
Venture into downtown Palmyra for an Art Fest near the Old Stone Jail. There will be food and activities, too, as well as a Dog Walk hosted by the Rivanna Lion’s Club. Find all the details on Facebook!
December 13 German Night at The Pub:
Enjoy German Food Specials from 5 - 8 PM. Matty Metcalfe will play live from 6 - 7:30 PM. Please call The Pub to reserve your space at 434-591-0106.
December 16:
YRF's Ugly Holiday Sweater Karaoke Party:
This was a blast last year, so the Young Residents and Families Committee is hosting it again at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 6-9 PM. The bar will be open for individual tabs and YRF will offer light hors d'oeuvres. Bring your best (or worst!) singing voice and don't forget to wear your favorite ugly holiday sweater for a chance to win the Ugliest Sweater Contest. Please RSVP at

Christmas Parade:
Come out and wave at Santa! The parade leaves the Ashlawn Clubhouse at 2 PM and drives down Jefferson Drive towards the Marina, returning to the Ashlawn Clubhouse.
Class in Journaling:
Join instructors Cynthia Moore and Kare Davidson at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 3-4:15 PM and learn how to journal as a self-care and healing activity. Explore the healing potential of writing and the strategies of Bullet Journaling* to see how these tools may help your health and well-being in the New Year! Pre-registration is welcome but not necessary. Please do so by emailing

. This is a free workshop. *Bullet Journaling is a system of journaling designed to organize thoughts and move forward on your goals. It was developed by minimalist Ryder Carroll for his own personal use to help mitigate his learning disabilities. An all-encompassing system that acts as a calendar, to-do list, planner, and regular journal, it is an effective tool for many looking to improve their health and well-being.
December 28 Silent Disco:
The Silent Disco is coming to the Lake! Grab a headset and dance to your own music at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 6 - 10 PM. Tickets cost $10 for kids (under 18) and $15 for adults (18 and up). Never heard of a Silent Disco? Find out more
