Hello Team LMOA!
LMOA would like to wish resident Dora Eugenia (DJ) Moore a very happy 100th birthday! She and Smokey (Jackson Ward) moved here in 2004, and she enjoys rides around the community, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends - in person or over Zoom. When asked about the secret to her long life, DJ responded that it is family, friends, good caregivers, and laughter. Happy Birthday, DJ!
Please continue reading for more official news from the Lake Monticello Owners’ Association:
Voting Email: The LMOA online Annual Meeting Notice and Voting Platform went live on Tuesday, May 28. If you are a Member in Good Standing who has opted in to receive your invite electronically, and you did not receive an email invite from
[email protected]
, please check your spam/junk mail boxes. To help you know what to look for, please log into lmoa.org and navigate to GOVERNANCE, ANNUAL MEETING 2024 to find the link to a demo and the online ballot. Note: these are just helpful tools; you will not be able to vote without your access code in your email or postcard.
Voting Postcards: For Members in Good Standing who opted out of receiving a notification by email or who cannot locate their email, postcards with access keys for online voting and for requesting a paper ballot were sent to the printer on Monday, May 27, 2024, per our bylaws. However, the printer informed us today that there was a technical glitch and postcards will not make it to the post office until Monday. They should be delivered to your mailboxes by the end of next week. If you have not received an email or postcard by June 10, please reach out to Member Services. We are happy to help!
No Barcodes June 10-14: The Public Safety Team will be upgrading our barcode system the week of June 10 - 14 and will not be able to issue new barcodes that week. Also, while gate computers are being replaced, a gate may have limited access or remain open while the work is being done. We will try to keep disruptions to a minimum. Thank you for your understanding.
Summer Season Guidelines: As the summer season has begun, we would like to ask everyone to be respectful of the people around you so that we all can enjoy the beaches, courts, and parks this summer:
Please pick up your trash and put it in the available trash bins.
Airsoft-type guns, including Gel Blasters and Nerf or Orbeez Guns, are prohibited on the beaches and in our parks.
Boats stored at docks are the private property of other residents. Do not allow your children to play on the boats or the docks where the boats are stored.
Loud and/or explicit music is prohibited.
Pool Entrance: The zero entrance of the pool was repainted this spring, but unfortunately, despite using special paint for pools, the surface was slicker than anticipated. Our Facilities and Operations Team placed anti-slip tape at the zero entrance of the pool, but this did not remedy the situation either. We are now ordering submersible mats and will place them as soon as possible. Your safety is our priority, and we appreciate your patience while we work to find a solution.
Ashlawn Racquet Courts: Work on the Ashlawn Racquet Courts will continue into next week. The finish date depends on the weather, but we expect them to be completed by next weekend, in time for Quickstart Tennis Camp on June 10. Thank you for your patience. Meanwhile, feel free to play at Lafayette Park.
YouTube: Our Broadcast Group has been very busy this spring capturing all of the wonderful things that happened at Lake Monticello on video. Please check out their productions - including CalTri, UVA Rowing, and the Candidate Form - on our official YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe!
West Coast Swing: Kyla Miller will start a new beginner West Coast Swing class on Tuesday, June 11 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the Terrace Rooms of Ashlawn Clubhouse. This is a progressive class that will last 8 weeks and it's FREE! For more information and to register, please contact Kyla at

.
Have a great weekend!
