Lake Monticello makes up roughly half of Fluvanna County’s population. We share serene countryside, fantastic schools, and heart-warming businesses with our county neighbors.
Located between Richmond and Charlottesville, Fluvanna County’s rich history tells the tale of early American farmers, enslaved laborers, indigenous people, and Black emancipation. Many of our county neighbors can trace their roots back to the days when President Thomas Jefferson resided at his nearby Monticello home. Whether you are a history buff, love a great glass of wine, or would enjoy taking a walk with alpacas, Fluvanna County is full of surprises.
