Happy July, Lovely Lakers! Over 100 of your neighbors will dedicate their time to ensuring a memorable and safe Independence Celebration this week! A huge thank you to this year's sponsors, Pepsi and Food Lion! Below are some practical tips followed by events to plan for in July. (See last week’s GM Corner for more safety tips.) Enjoy the holiday! HEAT: It’s going to be a hot one this year! Stay hydrated (with water!) and limit your exposure to the sun. Wear hats and sunblock and plan your day carefully while considering the extreme heat. We may limit the hours of the Beer Garden due to the high temperatures. This announcement will be made on Friday, July 5. SHADE TENTS ON MAIN BEACH: Please limit your shade tent size to 10 x 10 ft., and DO NOT set it up closer than 15 yards from the shoreline. Setting up close to the water’s edge blocks access to the water and the lifeguards’ view of swimmers. You will be asked to move your tent if you do not follow this guideline. TRASH DELAYED: Trash and recycling services are delayed this week due to the holiday. Trash days will be Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6. If your normal day is Thursday, your holiday trash day will be Friday. If your normal day is Friday, your holiday trash day will be Saturday.
