DMV Connect Canceled: DMV Connect has canceled the September 17 session at Lake Monticello. It will work with LMOA to reschedule for late October, and its IT Department is looking into why the DMV website was not working properly last week.

Fireworks Survey: This weekend, LMOA received 500 responses to the fireworks show survey. The Board of Directors (BOD) is considering spending an extra $20K on safety and security for the 2025 fireworks show (please see the SURVEY for more information). Fireworks cost $15K, bringing the total cost to $35K for our annual 15-minute show. Some suggestions were emailed to LMOA Staff and BOD this weekend. I would like to briefly address these questions with the following information:

Yes, LMOA Staff has looked into drone light shows, but they are considerably more expensive than fireworks.
Yes, LMOA has asked Fluvanna County about holding fireworks at Pleasant Grove in 2025. That request was not met with enthusiasm.
Yes, to help manage crowd control, LMOA has closed the gates to the public on the evenings of the 2023 and 2024 fireworks shows. However, this was ineffective as guest lists increased.
