Good afternoon, Lake Community,

Please be informed that two sewage pump stations have been identified as submerged underwater at Lake Monticello, specifically at Lakeview Circle and Dover Court, located in the area between the Marina and the Main Beach.

Aqua Virginia is aware of this situation, and according to their local team, no leaks have been detected. As a precaution, LMOA Staff took water samples for E. coli testing near those stations this morning, with results expected to be returned from the laboratory on Friday or Monday. We will share the results as soon as they become available at lmoa.org under News, Alerts.

Before swimming in Lake Monticello, please be aware that heavy rain washes chemicals and animal feces from yards into the Lake. For this reason, LMOA always recommends you wait at least 48 hours after a storm before entering the water.
