Event Spotlight: Fireworks
The fireworks return to this year's Independence Day celebrations on July 3rd! They'll be at the golf course, where there's a large viewing area on the 18th Fairway. The viewing area opens at 7 PM, giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy a hot dog from the food cart, visit with friends and neighbors, and find a good spot before the show begins shortly after dark between 9 –9:30 PM.  The 18th Fairway can be found along the large pond beside the Fairway Clubhouse at 51 Bunker Blvd. and is easily reached from the clubhouse parking lots. When those fill up, there is other street parking in the area. Volunteers will be out directing you to available parking! Accessible parking spots will be available in the lot in front of the Golf Pro Shop for those with Accessible Parking Passes, and an accessible seating area with a fantastic view will be set up by the cart barn. If you are not familiar with the area, we suggest having a look in the next two weeks so you are prepared. Bring a blanket, settle in, and enjoy an evening celebrating Independence Day together. 

June Board Meeting
The next LMOA Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 7 PM in the Fairway Clubhouse. To review the Board Meeting Agenda and Packet, log in to lmoa.org and select Board Meeting Details under the GOVERNANCE tab. Here are some helpful tips to prepare for a Board Meeting:

Annual Meeting Voting
Members in Good Standing should have received voting instructions and access to the online packet for the 54th Annual Meeting. Friendly tip: if you think you haven’t received your electronic ballot, please check your SPAM and JUNK folders. The new Board members will be announced on Saturday, June 27 at the Annual Meeting. There will be no-in person voting at that time. Be sure to watch the panel interview HERE, and remember that voting closes at 5 PM on June 19. Even though the current candidates are unopposed, all members in good standing are encouraged to vote in order to meet quorum!

Sunset Cruise for Veterans
Holistic Outreach for Veterans has asked LMOA to let you know it will host its 3rd Annual 2026 Sunset Cruise for Veterans here at Lake Monticello on Wednesday, June 24. These delightful cruises are for all veterans, military, spouses, supporters, families, and HOV Volunteers. Enjoy a one-hour cruise around the Lake, followed by Taps at sunset at the Marina. Water Safety Tip of the Week

Did you know that the orange flag is a safety tool to alert other boaters that a person is in the water? Whenever a person is in the water swimming near a boat, tubing, or water skiing, someone in the boat should raise an orange flag. This will communicate to other boaters that someone is in the water and to avoid that area. It can also be used as a visual distress signal. If you need assistance, raise the orange flag and wave it to get the attention of other boaters.
