Hello Team LMOA! Happy Father’s Day weekend, Lake Monticello! Don’t forget to take your father figures to the Main Beach on Sunday for a free donut between 11 AM and 1 PM. Also, kids can learn to fish on Saturday from 9 - 11 AM at Tufton Pond. Stay for pizza afterward! These two free events are powered by volunteers from the Lake Monticello Fishing Club and the Young Residents and Families Committee. Thank you for helping to make this a great place to live! Please continue reading for more official news from the Lake Monticello Owners’ Association: Vote Before July 3rd By Email or Postcard:
Voting Email: The LMOA online Annual Meeting Notice and Voting Platform went live on Tuesday, May 28. If you are a Member in Good Standing who has opted in to receive your invite electronically, and you did not receive an email invite from [email protected], please check your spam/junk mail boxes. To help you know what to look for, please log into lmoa.org and navigate to GOVERNANCE, ANNUAL MEETING 2024 to find the link to a demo.
Voting Postcards: To vote, Members can also use the access code on the postcards that started to arrive in mailboxes this week. Please note that the printer did not send these postcards on time. For this reason, LMOA is required to postpone the Annual Meeting to July 10 and extend voting to July 3. A new announcement is on its way; however, we have been informed that the updated announcement lacks an access code. Please use the access code on the first card or call for assistance. Rest assured, LMOA is not being charged for the postcards, and we will not use this printing service again.
Paper Ballots: these can be requested at the Main Desk.
LMOA is Hiring! We are looking for a Facilities & Operations Tech and a Seasonal Grounds Keeper. Visit CAREERS at lmoa.org to apply! Responsibilities for both positions include:

June Board Meeting: The LMOA Board of Directors will meet on June 20 at 7 PM in the Fairway Clubhouse. The Board Packet has been posted and Members can sign up to speak by emailing [email protected]. Quickstart Tennis Successful: This was another win made possible by wonderful volunteers! It was a full class: 25 of the Lake’s young residents ages 5-15 participated in the program this year. The weather was perfect and the children really enjoyed themselves. A big shout out to our amazing volunteer instructors Susie Abramson, Bob Dorsey, John Fornecker, Fred Gunnels, Lindy Prittie, Karen Christofferson, Jossef Barron, and of course Betsy Gunnels! Another big thank you to Quickstart of Central Virginia for donating lots of tennis equipment and wonderful take-home gifts for the kids! The children played on a brand-new surface, a cost that was budgeted in reserves. The Lafayette Courts will also be resurfaced later this summer. We will keep you updated on the exact dates. July 6th Menus: The Independence Day Celebration Schedule has been posted on our website and official Facebook page. We have also added the food and beverage options for July 6 to the announcements. See HERE for full details! The highlights are:
Lakeside Restaurant 12- 7:30 PM
Ashlawn Clubhouse Firework Viewing 8 - 9:30 PM $10 to enter, first come first served, cash bar until 9 PM Room for 60 people.
Ashlawn Food Court 11 AM - 9 PM Cookout Station, Taco Stand, Shark Tank, Beer Garden, Italian Ice Truck.
Bunker Bistro: Full bar service with grab-and-go snacks 11 AM - 4 PM (No regular food service).
Pool Entrance: The zero entrance of the pool was repainted this spring, but unfortunately, despite using special paint for pools, the surface was slicker than anticipated. Our Facilities and Operations Team put down anti-slip tape, but this did not remedy the situation either. LMOA tried to order submersible mats but these must be custom-made and would not arrive on time. The large zero-entrance section will likely remain closed for the season. However, we do believe a mat for the zero-entrance ramp will arrive soon. Channel 977: Our Broadcast Committee has let us know that Comcast Channel 977 is down, and they do not know how long it will take to get it back up. They will keep us posted. Meanwhile, please have a look at LMOA’s YouTube channel. The Broadcast Group has done a wonderful job capturing all of the events that happened at the Lake this spring! Have a great weekend!
