Hello Team LMOA! Thank you for reading this week's official news update from LMOA! 2025 Budget: The packet for the LMOA Board meeting on November 21 was published today on lmoa.org. It includes several Resolution Proposals (RPs), including one to approve the 2025 Budget, which has been in process since the summer to ensure Committee, Departmental, and Staff involvement, as well as open sessions for Member input. The RP to approve the 2025 Budget highlights that the LMOA Board of Directors intends to seek ways to support RocDun Hospitality, potentially providing an additional subsidy capped at $100K if the lessee continues to provide financials as they have been doing and metrics. The RP also notes that the Golf Committee recommends a 1.5% fee increase for contract holders, contrary to the 3% increase proposed during the 2025 Budget planning process. The Board meeting will start at 7 PM in the Fairway Clubhouse at 51 Bunker Blvd. All Members are welcome to attend and can sign up to speak HERE. Political Signs: Today marks 10 days since the election. Please remove political signs this weekend to remain in compliance with LMOA policy. Thank you! Thanksgiving: In celebration of Thanksgiving, we want to let you know that there will not be an Environmental Control Committee meeting on November 26. Additionally, the LMOA Administrative Offices will be closed on November 28 and 29, so please plan accordingly. Bunker Bistro will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but dinner packages can be picked up on Wednesday, November 27, before 6 PM. You can place an order at bunkerbistro.com. Please note that pickups will be at the Ashlawn Clubhouse, NOT at the Bistro. Paving Detour: Pyramid Paving is scheduled to repair the golf cart path near holes 12 and 6 on November 18 and 19. While the work is being completed, golf carts will follow a detour that crosses roads in a few unexcepted locations. These crossings can be found on the maps HERE and will be clearly marked for traffic. The Ashlawn Clubhouse and Marina parking lots will also be patched on November 21 and 22, but disruption is expected to be minimal. Free Bear Program: On November 23, you are invited to learn about the LMOA Wildlife Committee's sponsorship of orphaned bears. The Wildlife Center of Virginia saves injured and/or orphaned bears, preparing them for rehabilitation over the course of a year before releasing them back into the wild. This event will be at the Ashlawn Clubhouse (41 Ashlawn Blvd.) and begins at 1 PM. LMOA Holiday Ornaments: We're excited to share that the LMOA merchandise sale brought in over $400 for the Meals on Wheels program! It's not too late to contribute to this amazing service. There are still lots of fun LMOA ornaments available for you to purchase. You can find them at the ProShop (cash only), at the Main Desk (cash or check), or conveniently ONLINE (credit card/PayPal). Every little bit helps! Job Opportunity: We are looking for a full-time Security Officer at the Main Gate for the 3-11 PM shift. If you are interested in applying, please have a look HERE.
