Hello, Team LMOA, Thank you all for your patience as we navigated the challenges brought by the inclement weather, from snow and ice and missed trash pickups on some streets to the water main break that impacted our entire community on Wednesday evening. During this time, support and understanding from our residents are appreciated, especially the kind messages you’ve sent recognizing LMOA staff. Your words mean so much to them as they work diligently to stay on top of things, knowing that winter can keep us on our toes! Please continue reading for LMOA's latest official news update: Billing Update:
All property owners should have received their Annual Billing Statement by now. Please note the billing letter that accompanied your statement for details on how to pay. It contains a lot of important information. If you have misplaced it, you can read it HERE.
You may have noticed that barcodes are not included this year due to a technical issue. They will be billed on January 31, 2025, and are due by February 28, 2025. When making your payment, please wait for these to be added to your Amenities account on January 31st.
Additionally, please remember that when using a debit card for payment, our system processes it as a credit card, which will incur a 3% fee.
Upcoming Board Meeting: The LMOA Board of Directors (BOD) is meeting next Thursday at 7 PM in the Fairway Clubhouse (51 Bunker Blvd.). If you can’t make it in person, no worries! Our volunteer-run Broadcast Group records open sessions so you can still join in. You can watch it live on Comcast Channel 977 or on YouTube. We also keep the recordings available on lmoa.org for two months, so you’ll have plenty of time to tune in later. These recordings are posted within a day or two of the meeting on the member side of the website under Board Meeting Details. If you’re interested in sharing your feedback with BOD, this can only be done by attending in person. Please fill out the sign-up form HERE. If you have comments after the meeting, you can email the board by logging into lmoa.org and clicking on CONTACT THE BOARD in the brown tool bar. Please give the Board a week to respond. You can find the Board Meeting Agenda and Packet by logging into lmoa.org and selecting Board Meeting Details under the GOVERNANCE tab (just scroll down to the details for the January 23, 2025, meeting). Broadcast Volunteers Needed: If you head over to our YouTube channel next week to watch the board meeting, don’t forget to subscribe! Our volunteers work very hard on their productions and would love for you to support them by subscribing. You can also check out their latest videos featuring events like the Holiday Home Tour, Festival of the Trees, and Wildlife Committee’s Bear Program. The Broadcast Group can always use support. If you are interested in learning how to record or edit video, you can learn for free from a seasoned professional on the Broadcast Committee. If you are interested, please contact [email protected]. Blood Drive Full: We're excited to announce that the American Red Cross blood drive at the Ashlawn Clubhouse this Monday is fully booked! Thank you to everyone in Lake Monticello for your incredible willingness to donate life-saving blood. Our staff is collaborating with the American Red Cross to explore the possibility of organizing another drive soon. Hiring Pool and Marina Managers: By March 1, 2025, the LMOA staff will share details about how we’ll distribute pool credits and manage access for the upcoming pool season, which kicks off on Memorial Day weekend (May 26, 2025)! Additionally, Troon is currently looking to hire a Pool Manager and an Assistant Pool Manager. If you’re interested in managing our pool at Lake Monticello from Memorial Day to Labor Day, we invite you to visit our website to check out the available positions and apply today! We don’t have the Marina Manager position listed on Indeed yet, but if you would like to learn more about this upcoming role, please email our HR Director, Rebecca Mathews, at [email protected]. Music Bingo at Newcomers & Old Friends: Newcomers & Old Friends is one of the largest clubs at Lake Monticello, and joining is a fantastic way to enjoy activities in focus groups that share your interests! Want to know more? The group will hold its monthly meeting this Sunday, January 19, at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 3 to 5 PM. Yes, this time change is correct, as the meeting will be a little different than usual because Sara Davenport will host Music Bingo! If you enjoy the meeting, the club welcomes you to sign up as a member for just $10, which gives you access to their focus groups. This month, they will also be accepting donations for the Fluvanna SPCA, and participants will have a chance to win three raffle prizes. Specifically, the SPCA needs:
Purina Dog Chow, chicken flavor in green bag
Purina Cat Chow, blue bag
Purina Kitten Chow, yellow bag
Purina Friskies Pate wet food
Any dog treats except rawhide
Used sheets, blankets, pillowcases, or towels
You can also donate through Chewy and Amazon and bring your receipt to receive a raffle chance. Monetary donations are always accepted, as well.
