Happy Holidays, Neighbors and Friends!

Your Member Services Team wishes you a lovely holiday and all the best in the new year! Be sure to read the Year in Review HERE for an overview of all the wonderful things that happened in our community in 2023. Here are some reminders for the coming two weeks:

Most of LMOA's staff will be celebrating the holidays on December 25 and 26 and January 1, so our administrative offices will be closed. We thank the LMPD, the Main Gate, and other emergency staff who will be providing service throughout the holiday season.
If you are receiving guests, please update your guest list online or email it to [email protected] as soon as possible.
Trash will be delayed one day; please set your trash out one day later than normal for the next two weeks.

Job Openings: LMOA is hiring Operations Technicians and Custodians! If you would like to join the team that maintains and repairs Lake Monticello’s buildings and grounds, please reach out to Rebecca in HR at [email protected] or Tracy in Facilities & Operations at [email protected]. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Holiday Tree Disposal: LMOA will once again offer live holiday tree drop-off at Tufton Pond from December 29 - January 19. Please remove all decorations, lights, and stands, and do not leave trees beside the road near the pond. Instead, follow the signage to the proper drop-off area. Tufton Pond is at Tufton Lake Lane between Sunset Court and Northwood Road. Trees left at Tufton Pond will be chipped. If you would rather dispose of your live holiday tree with your trash, GFL requires you to cut it into small pieces that fit in your trash tote (the lid has to be able to close). This will go to the landfill.

Still Room to Celebrate the Closing of 2023!

New Year’s Brunch and Winter Pub Hours: The Pub will serve brunch on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2024). Please call The Pub to make a reservation at 434-591-0106. After New Year’s Day, the winter hours (ending March 31) will be:

Closed: Monday & Tuesday
Wednesday - Saturday: 11 AM - 8 PM
Friday: 11 AM - 9 PM
Sunday: 9 AM -2 PM

Silent Disco: The Silent Disco is coming to the Lake! Grab a headset and dance to your own music with neighbors and friends on December 28 from 6-9 PM at the Ashlawn Clubhouse. Tickets cost $10 for kids (under 18) and $15 for adults (18 and up). Reserve and pay via the Event Calendar at lakemonticellogolf.org!

New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance: Dinner with live music from Jelly Street Jazz at the Ashlawn Clubhouse (upstairs) starts at 5 PM on December 31, 2023. (Music starts at 5:30 PM). Then party until midnight to live music from Wrong Way Johnny. Dinner is $50/person with an additional $20/person to attend the dance. If you are just going to the dance, tickets are $30/person. Please reserve at lakemonticellogolf.org.

Looking Forward to the New Year!

West Coast Swing Beginner Lessons: Looking for a New Year's resolution? Learn to dance! Kyla Miller will start a new beginner West Coast Swing class on Wednesday, January 10 from 6:30 - 8 PM in the Terrace Rooms of the Ashlawn Clubhouse. This is a progressive class that will last 8 weeks, and it’s FREE! For more information and to register, please contact Kyla at [email protected].

Class in Journaling for Health & Wellbeing: Join instructors Cynthia Moore and Kara Davidson on January 20 at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 3-4:15 PM and learn how to journal as a self-care and healing activity. Explore the healing potential of writing and the strategies of Bullet Journaling* to see how these tools may help your health and well-being in the New Year! Pre-registration is welcome but not necessary. Please do so by emailing [email protected]. This is a free workshop. *Bullet Journaling is a system of journaling designed to organize thoughts and move forward on your goals. It was developed by minimalist Ryder Carroll. An all-encompassing system that acts as a calendar, to-do list, planner, and regular journal, it is an effective tool for many looking to improve their health and well-being.
